The biplane jig is designed to aid the setting of the upper wing during assembly.  The aircraft is held securely by the mainplane and tailplanes with the upper wing then positioned on two adjustable stands.  These stands are graduated so that they can each be set the same.

Two sets of uprights are available depending on the size of aircraft being worked on.  The first set is aimed at 1:48 and 1:32 scale aircraft.  The second set is primarily for 1:72 aircraft.  The optional extension is available to cater for aircraft with longer fuselages.

What to order

If you do not already have a biplane jig from us you will need to order the base unit plus one or more of the upright sets.  If you intend to build aircraft with longer fuselages then you may also need to order the base extension.

I bought a Biplane Large Jig but also want to build 1:72 aircraft

During development of the smaller jig it became clear that whilst some modifications to the existing base would be required a common base for all scales could be produced.  The original base will not accept the 1:72 uprights, however, we can supply replacement base parts at a much reduced rate for previous customers.  These are listed in the options as Base - Replacement (BB-R)
